Week of February 22nd: Race Signups & Schedule

The following are a few announcements and updates. 
RACE SIGNUP & DETAILS

All levels please sign up for your races this week by Monday at 2pm. 
  • JV1/JV2 Champs, SKATE RACE, Tuesday, Elm Creek @ 2pm - Please fill out this form to sign up for the race. Last race for JV skiers, congrats on a great season! Race Start is 2 pm. You'll be excused after 1st block. Get to Elm Creek at 1:15. Check in with coaches for wave assignments and brush out your skis. Then, get warmed up for about 15-20 minutes. Races should be all done by 3ish and skiers can leave right away. 
  • Varsity Champs, Thursday, Hyland 2-6pm (All 5 teams are racing together, be prepared for tough parking!) - Please fill out this form to sign up for the race. 
    • Format
      • Classic first, then skate. This will not be a pursuit race like in previous years, your total time will be taken for both races to determine place. All conference award is given to skiers placing in the top 14. 
      • Boys race at 2pm & 3pm. Girls at 4:15pm and 5:15pm. 
      • Please arrive an hour before the start of your first race with clean skis that have taped kick zones to make waxing easier. 
      • There is not much time between races. Plan to finish up your first race, put on dry hat, gloves and socks and warmups. Same bib. Change your boots. Get some water and a little food/energy/water.  Then warmup for the next race. 
PRACTICE SCHEDULE: 


Monday - Team practice at Hyland, 4:30pm - 5:45pm. Meet in the usual spot by Jan's Cabin. 

Tuesday -
  • JV1/JV2 Champs, 2pm at Elm Creek. 
  • Varsity plan TBD, let's talk on Monday. 
Wednesday - Team practice at Baker National Golf Course, 3:30 - 4:45pm

Thursday - 
  • Varsity Champs 2-6pm at Hyland
  • JV1/JV2 practice at French Park, 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Friday - 
  • JV1/JV2 practice at Baker Golf Course, 3:30pm - 4:45pm
  • Varsity practice at Theo Wirth, 3:30pm. 

Saturday - Time and location TBD.
