This is a skate race.
The distance for the race is 5 kilometers, which is about 3 miles.
Please remember, that even though it is going to be warmer than our last race, ...
Make sure you wear multiple layers under your uniform.
If you are fairly new to skiing, JV and DV skiers are permitted to wear a jacket but still use the uniform bottoms. Your bib number needs to be visible, not under a jacket.
The uniforms stretch, so wear warm layers under the uniform.
If you are not sure how to dress, check with one of the coaches.
Make sure your have a warm hat that covers your ears and warm mittens or lobster (two or three finger) mittens.
Leave metal jewelry, including earrings, at home.
Make sure you have a warm jacket to wear before and after the race, as well as some warmup or sweatpants.
Have extra mittens and hat in your bag to put on after the race.
